Solomon Bekele, one of the richest Ethiopians in the United States, has died of illness yesterday after receiving treatment for the past several months.
Ato Solomon, whose estimated net worth is said to be close to $100 million USD, was a prominent businessman in Atlanta and in the Washington DC Metro Area. He was known for funding various Ethiopian churches, community groups, and political parties.
Memorial service and prayer for Ato Solomon will be held on Saturday, January 12, from 9 AM – 12 Noon at Medhane Alem Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, 4401 Old Branch Ave, Marlow Heights, Maryland 20748. The funeral service will be held on the same day at 1 PM, Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax VA 22032.
