Sidama Zone in southern Ethiopia is approved to become a regional state


The Southern Ethiopian Region yesterday has approved its Sidama Zone to become a regional state, further cementing the ethnic- and language-based administrative structure in Ethiopia that is currently causing inter-communal clashes in several parts of the country.
