Bamlak Tessema Weyesa is on his way to Russia as one of 6 referees selected from African countries to officiate on the biggest stage next month.

Who is Bamlak Tessema Weyesa?

Beginning his refereeing career in 2003, Bamlak rose from domestic games to international matches in just six years.

He became one of Fifa’s listed referees in 2009 and took charge of the CECAFA Cup Final in 2010.

And since the Weyesa has been a regular across African international tournaments, taking charge of African Cup of Nation games and World Cup qualifiers.
