Ataye, a town located in Southern Shewa, has been in the headlines for the recent turmoil that took place. The conflict has left many wounded, displaced from their homes, churches and private properties. PM Abiy Ahmed’s government was in hot waters for a delayed response to a high-priority security condition. To make matters worse, authorities haven’t managed to apprehend anyone. Dr. Ambachew Mekonnen the recently appointed president of Amhara, visited and held discussions with the residents of Ataye.
