Global Report on Food Crises is a report prepared by 15 leading global and regional organizations and released annually by the Food Security Information Network (FSIN), led by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the World Food Programme (WFP) and International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). According to the report released on April 2, 2019, Ethiopia was one of the countries facing acute food insecurity. The report also suggested practical solutions for the countries to follow. Dr. Aklog Birara is an economist with the World Bank and a renowned commentator on Ethiopia’s social and economic issues.
