Ethiopia to sign nuclear deal with Russia


Ethiopia is set to sign a nuclear agreement with Russia. The deal, which is set to be inked in April, is for the exploitation of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

Mehreteab Mulugeta, director of European Affairs at Ethiopia’s Foreign Ministry, made the announcement after meeting with Russian officials. Mehreteab met with Andrei Kemarsky, director of the Department of Africa and Russia Foreign Ministry, in Moscow last week.

The Ethiopian government is reportedly preparing the terms of the agreement with Russia. Addis Ababa and Moscow are also looking to sign agreements in other sectors like trade and tourism. […] CONTINUE READING
