As part of the political reform, the parties previously named as Amhara National Democratic Movement (ANDM) and Oromo People’s Democratic Organization (OPDO) changed their name to Amhara Democratic Party (ADP) and Oromo Democratic Party (ODP) respectively. The veteran political parties, however, missed a crucial step according to the regulations of the National Election Board of Ethiopia. The board announced today that due to this, it might not give them recognition as competitive parties for the next national election.
