Tamagne Beyene, an artist, and human rights activist, returned to Ethiopia after two decades following the peaceful invitation by PM Abiy Ahmed. He had been an outspoken critic of the previous EPRDF system which led to his exile. Upon his return, he admired PM Abiy’s effort to restore peace and unity in Ethiopia. He also supported future plans of the prime minister before leaving for the USA. However, Ethiopian politics showed a dramatical change in just a few months.
