Ethiopian athlete Yomif Kejelcha broke a 22-year-old indoor world record in Boston on Sunday with a time of 3:47:01 seconds.

Yomif, 21, broke the record which was set by Moroccan runner Hicham El Guerroj many years ago. Yomif has been trying to beat the record for some time now. He came close last month during the Millrose Games held in New York.

Yomif is following the path of other great Ethiopian runners who have broken and set world records.

Morocco’s El Guerroj also holds the world outdoor record which he set in 1998 with a time of 3:26:00. [….] CONTINUE READING
