Indian workers kidnapped in Ethiopia released after 3 months


Seven Indian citizens, who work for a transport company in Ethiopia, have been released three months after they were kidnapped.

The Indians, who work for IL&fs Transportation Network (ITNL) in Ethiopia, were abducted by locals who had not received their salaries for months. The incident happened on November 25, last year.

Three of the Indian hostages were released in December. The others were released this month. All the Indian workers who were kidnapped have now been transported back to India.

“We have been able to secure the safe return of our employees, working in projects in Ethiopia, to India. These four employees have returned to India on 24 February,” an ITNL statement read. […] CONTINUE READING
