River banks in Addis Ababa to be turned into public parks


Ethiopian authorities are planning to transform river banks in the country’s capital Addis Ababa into public parks.

The Addis Ababa City administration recently launched the project which will cost around $1.2 million (Br29 billion).

The project, which is scheduled to be completed in three years, will be implemented by Varnero Construction Plc.

Takele Uma Benti, the deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, said the project was initiated by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed as part of efforts to make Addis Ababa a modern tourist center and improve the well-being of residents of the city. [….] CONTINUE READING
