Ethiopia will carry out its first-ever digital technology-assisted population and housing census. The Ethiopian Central Statistics Agency (CSA) said on Wednesday that preparations have been made to use technology during the next national census.
The census is scheduled to take place between April 7 to 28. Ethiopia conducts a population census every 10 years.
The digital technology that will be used during the upcoming census is made in China. The CSA also purchased about 180,000 tablets from Chinese tech companies; Lenovo and Huawei. The tablets will be used to collect data in five major Ethiopian languages during the census. [….] CONTINUE READING
