The Prime Minister of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed has met with the leaders of former rebel group, the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF).
Although the government is yet to announce the meeting, VOA journalist Harun Maruf said the meeting took place in the country’s capital Addis Ababa.
In a tweet, Harun said the Ethiopian leader met with high-ranking members of the ONLF including ONLF chairman Mohamed Omar Osman and six other executives.
This is the first meeting that Prime Minister Ahmed has had with the ONLF since he took office last year. The rebel group agreed to put down their weapons after the Premier took office. Recently, nearly 2,000 former ONLF fighters joined the Ethiopian army. […] CONTINUE READING
