A Chinese firm has been hired to conduct studies on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
The Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) awarded a $113m contract to Voith Hydro Shanghai to carry out electrical, mechanical, and other structural studies required to finish the construction of the GERD.
According to the EEP, the decision to hire Voith Hydro Shanghai will help to “pick up the pace of the dam.”
