Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has been voted as the next chairman of the African Union (AU) during a meeting in Addis Ababa on Sunday.
Leaders of different African countries were present at the AU headquarters in Ethiopia this past weekend. The AU chairperson position rotates between the five regions of Africa every year.
The Egyptian leader will focus on fighting the different terror groups springing up across the continent.
