Ethiopia is set to increase its internet capacity as part of the plans to develop the country.
The Ministry of Innovation and Technology announced the plan to change the country’s old WoredaNet to a new national ICT system.
The plan to upgrade the country’s internet capacity is expected to improve connectivity in the country. Ethiopians reportedly experience low Internet coverage and frequent Internet shutdowns. The country has an internet penetration rate of 15.4 percent, which is lower than that of some other African countries.
