General attorney issued arrest warrants on July for sixteen officials from Ethiopian Roads authority and Ethiopian Sugar Corporation. The officials held key positions in both organizations and were accused of different counts of embezzlement. The case has been ongoing for the last five months. However, General Attorney submitted the request to drop the charges to the court based on the notion that it is better for the public. The court granted the request based on Proclamation No. 943/200 Article 6(3e) and released the suspects.
