Ethiopia is set to launch the Gidabo dam in Oromia region next week, according to the Ministry of Water, Irrigation, and Energy.
The Gidabo dam, which is located in the city of Dilla, was constructed by the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECWC). It took about eight years for work on the dam to be completed.
Officials project that the dam, which can hold about 62.5 million cubic metres of water, will create about 192,000 jobs.
