Deforestation and climate change are threatening the production of coffee in Ethiopia. But it is not just in Ethiopia, the world’s two commercial coffee species are facing extinction.
A study by Britain’s Royal Botanic Gardens revealed that Arabica and Robusta are in danger and efforts to conserve wild coffee species may not be sufficient.
Africa, particularly Ethiopia, is at risk since it is one of the places on the continent affected the most by climate change.
