Western Ethiopia was in distress due to attacks from armed groups, and many private and government offices were shut down for a while. Western Ethiopia Command Post was deployed to the area to investigate and arrested suspected individuals. The command reported that it was able to seize illegal firearms, vehicles, communication devices and more from militias operating in the area. The command is planning to extend its operations to areas where robberies are still being committed and present findings of their investigation to the public. The command also announced that they are working with the general attorney to lawfully process the arrested individuals.
