The Ethiopian-Eritrean border opened September 11, 2018, after the two governments reconciled. Part of the reconciliation agreement was both countries to withdraw their forces from the borders. Following the treaty, Ethiopia has been withdrawing troops from the border. However, an unusual situation happened at a village near Zalambessa when the military troops were transporting heavy armories.
