Yared Shumete on the 6th Guzo Adwa with Mereja TV

Guzo Adwa is a historic walking road trip from Addis Ababa to Soloda Mountain in Adwa, Tigray. The trip began six years ago organized by Mulugeta Megeressa, Berhane Negussie, Erimiyas Alemu, Mohammed Kassa and Alem Zewed led by Yared Shumete with cameraman Muluken Berhanu. The one thousand kilometer journey allows people to commemorate the Battle of Adwa and reminds them the virtues of the battle; unity, tolerance, helping each other, and enduring the shared desire of living with freedom and dignity. The trip officially began today from Harari for the sixth time with the motto “Feker LeEthiopia” (trans. Love for Ethiopia). Mereja TV interviewed Yared Shumete about this year’s trip and his thought on the comments from many people who are against the trip.
