Ethiopian National Electoral Board went through administration restructuring to improve accountability and transparency. The appointment of Birtukan Midekssa, the former opposition leader, lawyer and judge, was one of the promising changes. But the election being conducted at the pre-scheduled period is questionable. According to the board’s Secretarial Head Ato Nega Dufissa, the board is uncertain about when the election will be because of the constant agendas and question brought up parties. The board is worried such situations might delay the pre-election preparations which can, in turn, affect the schedule.
