The Ethiopian Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Natural Gas has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Science and Innovation for the latter to build drones to monitor gas pipelines and locate mineral-rich sites across the country.
The project to build the drones will begin within two years, according to Samuel Urgatu, the country’s Minister of Mines, Petroleum and Natural Gas.
