In the press release sent to Reporter today, individuals who have been scamming Ethio Telecom have been arrested and their equipment were confiscated. CEO of Ethio Telecom Frehiwot Tamiru, gave a statement yesterday that measures would be taken on individuals giving illegal services. Following her statement, 34 and 32 SIM boxes were seized in Addis Ababa and Jimma respectively in collaboration with the federal and regional police forces. It was made public that Ethio Telecom lost its income from international calls due to illegal service providers in the country.
