Residents in western Wollega told the VOA that civilians have been killed and a public bus was burned down in a recent shootout between Oromo Liberation Front’s militia and Ethiopian troops. The residents also mentioned how the military is killing civilians and destroying properties to hunt down OLF militia. Ato Buzu Waqebe, Oromia’s Office of Security and Administration Deputy Head, told VoA that the shootout happened in order to suppress fire from unknown individuals. It is known that a command troop has been posted on the borders of Oromia and Benishangul.
