Journalist Fitsum Yeshitela was arrested in a corruption charge related to Metal and Engineering Corporation (METEC). She was suspected of embezzling funds for sponsorship from METEC. During the last session, the Federal High Court allowed additional 7 days for investigation. After the prosecution failed to submit new evidence yesterday, the Federal High Court ruled in favor of Fitsum Yeshitela and denied the prosecution’s request for additional 14 days. The court set the bail for 50,000 Birr.
