According to Ethio Telecom’s CEO Frehiwot Tamiru, operators giving out services without legal recognition have interrupted with Ethio Telecom’s services and ignorance of the police and security agencies led to shipments of illegal equipments to the country. In addition, Ethio Telecom has reduced tariffs for international calls in six regions from 10%-40% and 51% reduction for SMS tariffs. The regions are Africa, Asia, Middle East, North America, South America, and Oceania islands.
