A resident in Buno Bedele have reported to Mereja TV that residents in the area are being evicted and killed because they are Amhara by individuals who call themselves Qeerroo. In a phone interview with Buno Bedele’s Communications Head Ato Leykun Desalegn, he told Mereja TV that the death report is true and the office is currently investigating the situation. This isn’t the first time such assaults have happened at Buno Bedele. Last year on February, conflicts in this area resulted in the deaths of 12 people, 14 people were injured and 52 houses were burnt.
