As it is remembered, two hundred soldiers marched to the palace to raise benefits and other administrative issues last October. Following that, disciplinary measures were taken on 66 members of the Ethiopian Defense Force, who tried to get into the Prime Minister’s office, armed. In addition to this, higher officials of the FDRE Defense Force made structural reforms. The reform included the minimization of the 6 brigades to 4 brigades and decreasing the high number of soldiers in regional commands. Efficient regional commands and brigades were created by promoting effective structure. The opening of a new era of peace and friendship with Eritrea was the main reason for decreasing the number of brigades. FDRE defense force also announced that it’s going to take actions on the instabilities that are caused in different regions of the country, by communicating with responsible officials.
