Two former intelligence officials who are charged with human rights violations appeared in court today. Ato Measho Kidane and Hadush Kassa have denied that they are guilty. They told the court that they neither violated any human right nor participated in corruption, they also denied about their government responsibility and said they got arrested because of their ethnicity. They also told the court that they can’t afford to pay for defense lawyers, therefore, they want the government to provide the defense lawyers. On the other hand, the police brought the court the collected evidence about Measho Kidane’s responsibility and also promised to collect and bring shreds of evidence about their alleged crimes at the next hearing.
