Ever since June 2017, Addis Abeba Road and Traffic Management Agency has stationed traffic volunteers spread across city centers. One can find them especially in large numbers around public squares such as Megenagna, Torhailoch, Mesqel Square and Mexico that are largely populated. The agency has been expanding the program ever since. Traffic accidents involving pedestrians have decreased marking the program as a success. Pedestrians have also shown their gratitude towards the volunteers. However, the volunteers are facing multiple problems from different parts.
