On 19 June 2019 Borkena reported that a high-level Eritrean delegation led by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh had arrived in Ethiopia and met Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
The visit sat inside the continuing diplomatic calendar of the 2018 peace process, as Eritrean and Ethiopian officials kept shuttle contacts a year after the breakthrough.
