On 18 June 2019 New Business Ethiopia reported that the Ethiopian Public Health Institute said cholera cases had reached 614, including infections in Addis Ababa after an outbreak that began in the Amhara Region about two months earlier.
Deputy Director Dr. Beyene Moges said Oromia had 294 cases, Amhara 198, Addis Ababa 70, and Tigray 18, with 18 treatment centres open and plans to vaccinate about 17,000 people near affected areas.
