On 17 June 2019 The Reporter Ethiopia said economists at UK-based institutions found that many semi-skilled and unskilled Ethiopian workers in construction and manufacturing earned less than poverty-level wages.
The paper framed the finding as evidence that industrial-job growth alone did not guarantee living incomes for workers in those sectors.
Kept as labor archive, the Reporter story dates the mid-2019 poverty-wage finding on Ethiopian industrial workers.
