On 15 June 2019 The Reporter Ethiopia reported that the government was preparing a venture-capital policy meant to promote private investment and support job creation as part of wider economic opening.
The paper said officials wanted clearer rules for risk capital so startups and growth firms could raise money inside Ethiopia rather than only through informal networks.
