Ethiopia’s food and drug regulator banned several cooking-oil and children’s food brands


On 14 June 2019 New Business Ethiopia reported that the national food and drugs regulatory authority had banned several food products and brands from the market, including cooking oils and children’s foods, for failing to meet safety standards.

The enforcement note presented the bans as a consumer-protection action against non-compliant imports and local products rather than as a temporary shortage measure.
