In June 2019 New Business Ethiopia reported that the Council of Ministers had announced a national budget of about 387 billion birr, roughly $13.5 billion, for the coming Ethiopian fiscal year.
The budget figure set the public spending envelope for a government still promising reforms while facing debt, drought costs, and security spending, so it remains a basic fiscal reference for that year.
Kept as fiscal and economy archive, the New Business Ethiopia report dates the mid-2019 approval of Ethiopia’s $13.5 billion budget plan.
