In June 2019 ReliefWeb carried IOM’s Ethiopia Emergency and Recovery Response appeal for June–December 2019, which asked the world for about $50 million to keep helping roughly 1.5 million people amid drought and conflict displacement.
IOM said nearly nine million people needed humanitarian aid and protection after years of drought and fighting, and that the wider 2019 Humanitarian Response Plan was still badly underfunded halfway through the year as another drought threat loomed.
Kept as humanitarian planning archive, the IOM appeal dates the mid-2019 funding ask for emergency and recovery work inside Ethiopia.
