In June 2019 Mining Weekly reported that a subsidiary of AIM- and TSX-V-listed Altus Strategies had secured a three-year exploration licence for the Zager copper and gold prospect in Ethiopia’s Tigray Region.
Junior miners often use Ethiopian licences to test Arabian-Nubian Shield geology, and a Tigray award in 2019 later sits in a darker security context after war disrupted northern exploration.
Kept as mining and FDI archive, the Mining Weekly note dates one pre-war northern exploration grant.
