In May 2019 Médecins Sans Frontières described 17 mobile clinics across Doolo zone in Ethiopia’s Somali Region, a vast arid pastoral area where patient numbers had kept rising and where fixed clinics alone could not reach herding families.
Flexible outreach matters in pastoral systems because households move with animals, and disease and malnutrition often spike when water and pasture fail.
Kept as health and humanitarian archive, the MSF note dates one operational model for care in Ethiopia’s eastern lowlands.
