From 21–23 May 2019 the WHO African Regional Commission for the Verification of Measles Elimination held its second meeting in Addis Ababa to review progress reports from Seychelles, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, and Ghana.

Ethiopian health officials used the gathering to stress commitment to measles elimination after introducing a second measles vaccine dose in February 2019, and WHO Ethiopia said it would help set up national verification structures.
