In May 2019 Tadias Magazine reported that Ethiopian Airlines dismissed a Bloomberg story about former pilot Bernd Kai von Hoesslin, who said he had warned managers in December 2018 that Boeing 737 Max crews needed more training before the March 10 ET302 crash that killed 157 people.
The airline called the claims baseless and said the pilot was a disgruntled former employee whose contract ended after administrative problems, while also stressing that it follows global safety standards.
The exchange sat beside Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg’s public apology and Ethiopian CEO Tewolde Gebremariam’s refusal to rush the Max back into service, so it remains part of the ET302 media fight over whether pilots or design flaws should carry the blame.
Kept as aviation archive, the Tadias file dates Ethiopian Airlines’ formal pushback against the ex-pilot narrative.
