In May 2019 Reuters reported that a French woman whose husband died when Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 crashed had filed a United States lawsuit against Boeing seeking at least $276 million.
ET302, a Boeing 737 Max 8, went down on 10 March 2019 shortly after leaving Addis Ababa, killing everyone on board. Families and lawyers used US courts to press the planemaker over design, training information, and how quickly the Max returned to service after the earlier Lion Air crash.
Damage claims cannot restore the dead. They do create a public paper trail of what relatives alleged about corporate responsibility in the Red Sea aviation corridor that runs through Bole.
Kept as aviation legal archive, the French widow’s suit is one dated line in the larger ET302 litigation map.
