After Ethiopia’s parliament ratified the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Xinhua reported Addis Ababa’s hope that continental market rules would accelerate industrial development and export manufacturing.

AfCFTA optimism has always collided with hard constraints: logistics costs, power reliability, standards capacity, and political shocks that scare investors. Ethiopia’s industrial parks strategy made the stakes concrete.
Keep the piece as trade-policy reference. Whether AfCFTA becomes a real demand engine for Ethiopian factories or mainly a diplomatic checkbox is still an open Horn business question.
