The justice system in Ethiopia has been being criticized by many, to its inhuman treatment of accused persons and charging individuals without any crime or even only for expressing their ideas on social media. There are ongoing activities to upgrade the justice system after the reform movement came to power. However, The Tigray regional state politicians and activists are challenging the reformation in various manners.
The group named Global Movement for the Liberation of Tigrayan Political Prisoners (Wefri Harnet) requested the release of all Tigrayan political prisoners in custody of the Ethiopian government.
