Africa and specifically Ethiopia haven’t used tourism to their advantage despite the many the tourist attraction in the continent. On a press conference organized on August 14, 2019, a new project titled “African Tourism Olympiad” led by Biniyam Alemayehu has been launched for individuals and companies to implement to improve the tourism industry. The project designed in collaboration with the Ethiopian Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Tourism Ethiopia initially began four years ago but had to be delayed due to the instability Ethiopia faced in recent years.
