The on-going controversy over Supreme Court President Meaza Ashenafi’s comment

Meaza Ashenafi, Ethiopia’s Supreme Court President, is one of the leading women in Ethiopia who is appointed in a government position. Before her appointment, she founded the Ethiopian Women Lawyers Association and has been described as leading women’s rights activist for her work in prosecuting sexual harassment. She has made headlines after her response on a forum about criminals hiding in regions. She quoted a case in the history of the United States of America under the presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower when a defense force had to be deployed to enforce the rule of law as a way of explaining the rule of law.
