Eritrean woman speaks with President Trump about religious freedom in her country

President Trump met with several people at the White House on July 17, 2019, as part of his meetings with survivors of religious persecution from across the world. Among the crowd was Eritrean gospel singer Helen Berhane. Upon meeting the president, Helen requested the aid of the US government to rescue other victims from the Eritrean government persecution. Such persecution happens till now in Eritrea, and Helen Berhane has also suffered from it.
