Journalist and Addis Ababa Baladera Council Chairman Eskinder Nega headed to Bahir Dar city on Saturday, June 22, 2019, for a rally the next day. However, upon arriving at the airport after two flight delays, he could not leave the airport. The reasons have not been officially addressed by the authorities neither the reason for the flight delays. The rally had been the highly anticipated event on the weekend. Following the disturbing news emanating from the Amhara region concerning an attempt coup d’etat and arrival of Eskinder amid the chaos after delays are raising suspicions.
